Blessed are you …

3 beatitudes edge

Blessed are you when you quiet your soul, for then you will hear me whisper.

Blessed are you when you discover who you are, behind the mask, beneath the denial, still held in love.

Blessed are you when you dare to embrace my gifts to you – and then release them with wild abandon upon the world.

Blessed are you when honest anger clears the air, but strikes no blow, except upon deceit, itself.

Blessed are you when you receive my kiss without hesitation, for nothing except your reticence can slow my love.

Blessed are you when you see my face in every countenance, even the one on the street, even the one in the mirror.

Blessed are you when you dare to believe that the dance of the trinity holds out its hands to you.

Blessed are you when the peace in you touches the cry of another.

Blessed are you when you risk your heart to love, for an open heart opens life.

Blessed are you when you grieve for another, for grief, as well as laughter, expands your soul.

Blessed are you when your eyes are seared with the scenes of pain visited upon the vulnerable, for what you feel is my heart breaking.

Blessed are you when you trust me, for only then can you know that I am trustworthy.

Blessed are you when you reach for me in the dark, for I will take your hand.
